LEWISTON - Dear Dave: I had the pleasure of attending one of your recent Seasoned Worker Forums in Lewiston.  I appreciated the enthusiasm and effort you are putting into this critical topic.  As a former Human Resources/Training & Development executive, I understand well the value of seasoned workers to our present and future workforces.  In addition, as a job-seeker/seasoned worker myself, I sympathize with the many challenges and roadblocks that seasoned workers face in their job searches.  Programs such as yours help us keep perspective and momentum. Thanks Kevin

AUGUSTA - Hi Dave: I really enjoyed the Seasoned Worker Forum--your program and the  participants were all interesting and helpful.  I'm already spreading the word to others I think would benefit from attending these forums. I was particularly helped/inspired by your advice to "reinvent" one's self.  It was just  what I needed to hear.  Having my full time job end so suddenly after 24 years--despite the fact I am 75 and should be ready for retirement -- was too unexpected, my work-acholic nature wasn't about to adjust to slowing down and smelling the roses.   Now, I think : reinvent-reinvent- reinvent--try new challenges.  I think it's working! Thanks again,
MaryFrances

ROCKLAND - Thank you so much for the forum. After being unemployed since September, I have steadily become more pessimistic about job possibilities. I needed a real boost and you gave me one. Thanks also for the e-mail. Ann

BRUNSWICK - I wanted to thank you for your efforts with the Seasoned Worker Seminar.  It was great to hear from outside employers and have them tell about the work opportunities available even in these difficult economic times.  I believe that each person at the seminar came away with a bit of confidence and assurance that the future isn't going to be so bad.  That's a pretty good thing. Thanks. Kristine

BANGOR - Good afternoon Dave,
I need your help. We are currently recruiting for 25 customer service representatives in the Bangor area. These candidates would need to have good customer service skills, good communication skills, a sense of urgency and be friendly and obtain a positive attitude. Some computer experience is also required (basic knowledge of typing). We are looking to schedule interviews soom. If you know of individuals who have attended your forums that would be a good fit for this position, please have them contact our office or come in and apply. Thanks, Penny

PORTLAND -
Thanks for the summary of the meeting. It was informative and inspirational. I especially appreciated the links to age-neutral employers and employment services. I'm planning to take some adult ed courses next semester. Thank you so much, Betty

WATERVILLE - Dave, it was great meeting you and thank you for a very uplifting forum.  I enjoyed it thoroughly!  Also, thanks for the contact numbers.  I've started working for the US Census Bureau and I'm now canvassing after finishing the week-long training.  I do enjoy it. Thanks again for your encouragement. Geoff

DAMARISCOTTA - Hi Dave, I took your advice from the Seasoned Worker seminar I came to.  I took a part time job on March 30th.  It was not in the department I would have liked and it was difficult to accept the reality of how far I had fallen from owning my own business.  But, yesterday I was offered a full time assistant department manager's position; told by them they know I want to join the management training program, and that this would be my chance to show them what I can do.  It took two years, but I'm now in a stable place I can launch from.  When I compare three months to two years, its was a short wait. Thanks, Steve
